She is an Australian track and field athlete who plays in the javelin throw. Barber got fame after she got gold medal at the 2019 World Championships. Her professional career started slowly; she failed to record a valid throw in 2012 or 2013. But she improved steadily over 2014 and 2015 to take fifth place at that year’s NACAC Championships. Her international debut was in 2014 Commonwealth Games. She scored 62.95m and was at third position.
In 2016, she suffered back injury and she couldn’t prepare well for 2016 Summer Olympics. Due to injury, she finished 28th and didn’t qualified. She came back fully charged in 2017 and produced three personal bests in competitions in Turku, Lausanne and London. She won the season with silver medal at the Diamond League Final in Zurich with personal best of 64.53m.
In national championship, she placed 2nd after Kathryn Mitchell. She received silver medal at 2018 Commonwealth Games with a throw of 63.89m. Barber won gold medal at the 2019 Oceania Athletics Championships. Her personal best and championship best throw was 65.61m.
