Before transferring to Drake, Taliyah graduated from West Des Moines Valley High School where she competed on her school’s track team and was an All-State honoree.

Her college career culminated with her winning a gold medal at last year’s North American Collegiate Athletic Conference (NACAC) Championships for heptathlon.

This win helped Taliyah earn her spot on Team USA for this year’s 2022 World Championship as part of Team USA.
